Dartmouth College, the first Ivy League institution to be fully wired and fully wireless, plans to fully deploy voice-over IP (VoIP) by the end of 2003. The College is testing location-aware technology that enables users to access information appropriate to where they are, whether in a reception area, classroom, or lab. It is also developing a grassroots broadband network initiative, to provide connectivity to the residents of the rural area surrounding its campus.
